About this house
The architect-designed cottage with a stone herb roof blends naturally into the surrounding landscape and is an atmospheric and tranquil oasis close to the roaring North Sea. Inspiration for the design of the house comes from Chinese hutongs (courtyard houses) and Frank Lloyd Wright's organic American architecture.
The house has three good-sized bedrooms with a total of eight beds. There are two bathrooms and showers both inside and outside. The large kitchen and living room are the heart of the house and where you can spend the day together. Here you can relax in front of the gas fireplace (no hassle with lighting and smoke), cook good food in the kitchen and just be with each other. The window seat is the perfect place to sit and watch wildlife and feel your shoulders drop completely.
Everywhere you can feel the love of nature in the choice of materials. The courtyard, which is directly accessible from the kitchen, becomes an extra living space for the whole family. It's sheltered from the elements, and if it starts to rain, you can simply move under the awning.
The magnificent dune landscape embraces the house and becomes an integral part of living in the house, which with its floor-to-ceiling windows invites nature inside. This makes it an ideal holiday home worth a visit for nature lovers. In the protected nature area north of the cottage you can see rare birds and wildlife, and there are some fantastic hiking routes.
Nørlev Strand, just an eight-minute walk from the house, is a beautiful west coast beach that is ideal for walks, swimming in the summer and admiring the majestic waves of the fall storms. In the Nørlev area there are great opportunities for hiking, running, cycling and horseback riding. It's also just a short drive to Lønstrup, which offers café life, art galleries, glassblowing and pottery workshops.
If you're traveling as a family, the nearby Skallerup Seaside Resort might be worth a visit. It offers family-friendly activities with a water park, restaurants, spa and sports activities.
